Hello everyone and welcome to the sixteenth installment in my Artist of the Week sixteenth installment in my Artist of the Week series.
This week we have a very special guest and one of my favorite artists; 350, Michael “350” Torres is a Christian artist hailing from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.
Having made his debut in 2019 with the double single “Seasons”, 350 has solidified himself as one of the best in the genre, much more than just a genre, Michael seeks to give people a glimpse into his life throughout his music, offering up personal views into his life as a husband and as a father.
350 is an artist that has never shied away from being completely honest in his music, opening up about personal struggles throughout his 2022 debut album Love You, Divine<3, throughout his struggles in life Michael always points people back to the One who helped him through those dark times, God.
In 2020, he collaborated with Christian Hip Hop media outlet Rapzilla and fellow CHH artist 1k Phew to release his breakthrough single “East Side”, this song would go on to become a fan favorite, introducing 350 to a wider audience.
In 2023 it was announced that 350, along with his brother and fellow artist A3 would be two of the artists joining the group HEAVENONEARTH, formed by his friend and fellow artist WHATUPRG, shortly after the full lineup was announced, they released their debut single entitled “DIGITAL”, two weeks later they would release their self titled debut album.
On April 26, 2024, 350 released his second album and his best work yet entitled 3: Does Anyone Know You’re Going This Way?, the title being an ode to the classic book series Lemony Snickett’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
Throughout the album 350 opens up a window into his personal life, touching on topics such as bitterness he’s held onto, healing from past trauma, being a husband, becoming a father and ultimately asking God to break down the walls he’s built around himself.
It’s rare to find an artist such as 350 that’s as open about personal struggles as he is and this newest album is further testament of that, inviting people in to see his struggles and doubts, never failing to point people back to God who’s always been there for him.
As of this year, 350 has released a total of two albums and nineteen singles, 350 is an electrifying performer with a passion for the stage, you’re not going to want to miss seeing him perform, so make sure to catch him at SIERVO FEST 24’ located in Houston, Texas, and at indie tribe.’s festival HOLY SMOKE! 2024 located in Nashville, Tennessee.
