Hello everyone and welcome back to a long overdue return of the artist of the week series, this series has been on a bit of a hiatus the past couple of months due to how busy I’ve been with work and other stuff. I did a couple of album reviews for some good friends of mine so if you haven’t seen those yet go check them out but without further ado let’s get to it
Joining us on this latest installment is an artist who’s actually been on here before, back in the beginning stages of this series, this artist was one of the first to be featured on here.
We got the legend himself yoshiyahu fka Siahthylegend, feeling conviction from God to change his name and to create a new brand that was fully Christ centered, siah changed his artist name to Yoshi Yahu, which means “Yahweh went and healed me” in Hebrew.
Rebrands can be a tough thing for any artist to undergo, especially when they had quite a bit of motion on their old account but sometimes God has different plans and in this case God was calling Yoshi into a new season of life, having moved from Texas to Tennessee, he’s been able to make the right connections by trusting where God was calling him.
One of those connections being Derek Minor a CHH legend and OG, he met with Derek and signed a deal with him via RMG Alpha which is the latest imprint of rmg amplify a distribution service, while he can’t disclose all the details yoshi had this to say: “signing with rmg alpha I can guarantee that the movement is about to go crazy and my brand is in the right hands for sure”.
Yoshi has been constantly working on new music, having set the rebrand in motion this year with the release of his debut single “i won’t die” which released in April, since then he’s gone on to release a total of five singles with more set to drop soon, I asked him what can he tell us about what he has planned for the future and this is what he had to say:
“I’m dropping consistently once a month till otherwise, anyone who’s a fan of me can expect something new every month and share my craft”
I’ve known siah aka yoshi for six years now and the difference not only in quality but also in the person he is now compared to who he was and what he was doing as SiahThyLegend is leagues ahead of what young Siah could only dream of, the things he’s accomplished, the music he’s making now, everything has taken a whole new direction for the 20 year old artist.
Trust me when I say that what he’s got in store is crazy, yoshiyahu has a lot planned for the future and you’re gonna want to join in on what he’s got planned ‘cause big things are happening for him and I couldn’t be more excited to see where the future takes him.
