Artist of the Week: Album Reviews edition

48 by Kaden Jordan & Arsonal a review:

Hello everyone and welcome in to a spin off edition of my Artist of the Week series, which is album reviews, up to this one I think I’ve only done about three or four over the past year.

But I’m excited and looking forward to reintroduce this part of my Artist of the Week series which is intended to help shine a light on dope albums that have just come out, whether it’s an artist you’re familiar with or one you’re not very familiar with.

My hope through this is that you would find a new artist to listen to and help you on your journey as a Christian, as someone who connects to music so much I find it only right that I share that connection and the artists/albums that have helped me connect to music even more which in turn helps me draw closer to God.

Allow me to introduce the two very talented people behind the album that I’m reviewing this week, enter Kaden Jordan a very talented young upcoming artist based in Orlando, Florida, who was previously featured in the Artist of the Week series and Canadian based producer Arsonal fka Austin Knoll.

These two have teamed up to drop what is in my opinion one of the best projects so far this year entitled 48, having released it early on the platform EVEN which is a site that allows artists to set a price for people to have access to the album early as well as special features limited to EVEN, 48 wound up on the front page of the site.

48 stands for 48 hours, Kaden states this about the project:

“This album evokes a powerful sense of escape, as if I’m running away from something that no longer serves me—something dark or unresolved—while at the same time reaching out toward something more meaningful, more fulfilling, almost like chasing a distant horizon; it feels like a soundtrack to a personal journey, one that’s all about transformation, and the struggle and hope that come with trying to make it to the other side, wherever that may be.”

Together Kaden and Austin combine their talents to bring forth a fresh sound to the genre, over the span of ten tracks Austin takes you on a journey with his production knowing when to make the beats gritty and when to make them calm, paired with Kaden’s unique way of storytelling.

The result is a powerful story of a person on a journey through life finding God even at their lowest and it’s all wrapped cohesively throughout the project, with 10 tracks Kaden and Arsonal make the absolute most out of it, every track fits in perfectly, guiding the listener through the events and the journey that takes place over 48 hours.

Also I don’t know if it was intentional but 48 hours has significant Bible meaning, as 48 hours were counted as Joshua’s longest day in which God made the sun stand still for 48 hours as accounted in The Book of Joshua: Chapter 10, verses 12 through 14:

“[12] On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” [13] So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. [14] There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!”

Whether or not that has any bearing on the album I don’t know, I just thought it was something interesting and worth mentioning, features are kept to a minimum on 48 with only two features from artists Kemvr and Battz, the result is a tight knit cohesive project that has something to offer for everyone while never compromising or backing down from the message of God.

This album is sure to resonate with a lot of people, with Kaden Jordan and Arsonal proving themselves to be quite the dynamic duo we hope that this is only the beginning of their joint collaboration, in the meantime enjoy the debut product of said joint collaboration.

This album wouldn’t be complete without Kaden and it wouldn’t sound the same or be complete with Austin’s production which helps set this project up even higher, perfectly understanding Kaden’s voice, Austin’s beats compliment his voice very well resulting in the project that is known as 48.

That brings us to the end of this review, if you’ve made it this far thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully I convinced you to give these two really talented and humble guys a chance, until next time God bless and I hope y’all have an amazing week.
