I recently sat down with “Ryan KMA” for another installment of the “Independent Artist Spotlight”. In this interview w discussed the release of his new song “Victory”, his difficult transition from living in Zambia to relocating to Australia for better living conditions, having once produced music for the world to now serving God with his gift, and adjusting to a new environment while finding his audience. You can listen to the full-length interview linked HERE
This review is for Ryan’s song “Victory”. “Victory” has got to be one of the most complete songs that I’ve heard in while. When I say that, it’s not to throw shade at other artists I’ve reviewed recently. It simply means that Ryan is credited as the writer and the producer. Who better to know how to bring out the best in a their sound than the visionary of the song and the track. From start to finish, the song is a monster! I love the subtle beat and the punch-ins for the hook. It gives off a “choir feel” which in my opinion makes the song sound full. When I tell you I loved this song, I LOVED IT!
When you listen in closely the song mimics angels giving praise to God. It’s a very calm and warming song. It makes you want throw your hands up and immediately give God praise! Sonically, “Victory” is a masterpiece. When I first listened to the song, I played it on repeat and I let the beat and the lyrics minister to me. After the 6 or 7th play I knew just where to go with this review. I wanted to give Ryan his flowers for all the points I pulled from the song. I loved the melodic flow of the song. Ryan is a genius when comes to his craft. His talent spans from his ability to sing, song-write, and deliver powerful lyrics.
Ryan first comes in on the track giving praise and honor to the King of Kings with a fitting wish of “Happy Birthday”. This was by far the coolest Christmas Carol I’ve ever heard! Ryan’s switch up of his flow and delivery makes the song transformative and it could easily be categorized as Hip-Hop, R&B, or Praise and Worship. I loved the lyrics too. “Rejoice all the earth for the King is born”! Surely, we have the victory because Christ has overcome the world! The lyrics throughout the entire song was very inline with the Word of God. I liked the cover art as well, very subtle, very artsy.
I’m excited about Ryan and the music to come. I really enjoyed meeting him. We took the conversation deep and I’m glad I got the chance to get to know him. We recently featured “Victory” in DJ Jeremaya’s “Iron Sharpens Iron”. Ryan was the challenger to OGK Joshua and it was dead heat the entire time.
Ryan has to know by now that he definitely has a support system in Trackstarz. You can listen to “Victory” and full compliment of Ryan KMA’s songs on Spotify or wherever digital music is sold.
