I recently sat down with “Rondo Reborn” for the “Independent Artist Spotlight” In the interview we discussed the release of his new single “Heavenwood”, his transition from having grown up in South Sudan under dire circumstances and exposure to witchcraft, to now living in Ontario, Canada, operating under the power of the Holy Spirit! I found Rondo to be a rare and unique talent. Definitely one of God’s chosen, certainly anointed to do music in His name. It was refreshing to hear him speak about how his process stems from listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and how he only moves when he is told to. Heaven Wood is an amazing song with an incredible message. I just sat back, hit play, and I just let the music minister to my spirit. The song starts off with a very melodic sound highlighting light strokes of the keys, and a very subtle snare. Moments later Rondo comes in snapping on the track. Like many of Rondo’s songs I’ve listened to, the lyrics were on point, the message fell in line with the Word of God, and his ability to ride the track was masterful. I thought the hook “Pick up on your scriptures” was both vibey and memorable. I loved that the cover art reads “Christian Advisory, Explicit Truth”. It’s seems to be a commonality among “Rondo Reborn” songs.
