Hello everyone and welcome back to another album review, this time we have NAES & JXRGE who have teamed up to drop a collab album entitled OTR which stands for On The Radar.
OTR is a jam packed 16 track album full of features ranging from A3, 350, Not Klyde, Kaleb Mitchell , Kemvr, TUVÌ, Garko and CallemJJ among others, with only one single released from the album NAES & JXRGE bring together a carefully crafted album.
Full of fresh and unique sounds, when asked about what the album means to him, NAES had this to say:
Man this project means so much to JXRGE and I. Not only cause of our features but cause of the amount of time we put in this project. This project was supposed to drop last year but there was a moment where we lost our files due to a corrupted SSD card. We lost all our music that we’ve ever made in the span of 4 years. That discouraged us in so many ways and there was a point that we just wanted to stop making music. We both had to sit down and get our acts right with God. We came to the conclusion that this is as God telling us we could make something even better. He wanted us to work double OT for the fruit of our labor, and that’s exactly what we did. We made the project better the way God wanted us too. This project came to mind back in 2022 when I was working overnight and I was texting with JXRGE around 1 AM. We were speaking life into each other cause we both weren’t pleased with our music career and we felt that we weren’t glorifying God the way we were made to do.
One thing I remember telling JXRGE was that the music we make for now on, has to be on everyone’s radar. That was stuck with me for a while. Then one day I was scrolling on TikTok and a video of someone explaining what a radar is and how it works was on my feed. I kid you not I spent 10-15 minutes watching those videos. I know it was God trying to get my attention, so I hit up JXRGE and told them we need to work on a project, and he right on board. We’re beyond grateful for the connections we have in the CHH community, we wanted to use our platform to grow with our circle. One thing I know is we can’t grow vertically if we haven’t grown horizontally first.
When I do my reviews sometimes it’s hard to do the album I’m listening to justice by just describing what I think about it and it’s times like those when I like to ask the artist what the record means to them because more often than not there’s always a much deeper meaning than I could put down in words.
If you’re looking for new music to listen to that’s original with Godly lyrics and fire beats then this album is for you and NAES & JXRGE are the duo you need to be on the lookout for before they blow up.
With that being said that brings us to the end of this review, S/O to NAES for entrusting me with this review of this project, make sure to be on the lookout for the next article, until next time God bless and have an amazing week.
