Hello everyone and welcome to the fifteenth installment in my Artist of the Week series.
This week we have HYLEM, Elijah is a young Christian artist hailing from Louisiana, having made his debut in 2021 with the release of his debut single “Life Gets Crazy”, he’s gone onto consistently drop music with a total of 92 singles an EP and seven albums, HYLEM is showing no signs of slowing down.
With plenty more up his sleeve for 2024, HYLEM is an artist you don’t want to miss out on, whether he’s doing pop or rap, Elijah’s proving that he’s here to stay, with his strong Christ centered lyrics, catchy beats and catchy sound, he’s also managed to get features from artists such as Parris Chariz, Rockstar Jt, Scootie Wop and Don Ready.
He’s also gotten features from his good friends and fellow artists such as Jude Barclay, SiahThyLegend, CieMie, DANMAR and grantdakidd, with close to two million streams on Spotify, HYLEM is a force to be reckoned with.
When asked about the reason why he does music, he had this to say:
“Hylem feels as if a lot of times in Christian space we feel like we can’t talk about feelings, or our lives, people think it has to be Jesus in the song and that’s it, hylem says even the Bible isn’t just Jesus, it’s life, heartbreak, love, doubt all of the human emotions, hylem wants to bridge the gap in Christian music to where Christians start expressing their feelings and going to us Christ hearted artists, instead of ones pushing out a negative message.”
