The Revolution Will Not Be Televised #TBT | Throwback Theology | @kirkfranklin @damo_seayn3d @trackstarz

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Kirk Franklin is known as a pioneer of gospel music. He revolutionized it like so many others that came before him. The things he did musically may be considered the norm now, but at the time he did them they were a shock to the system. He was used to bring change that many were not feeling, but it brought the music to a new level and gave us some classics.

This is an example of how change works. It’s not just some simple thing that doesn’t effect anything. It’s not moving a coffee mug from the right side to the left side of the table. No, it’s tearing down a wall between 2 rooms and altering it forever.

Jesus is revolutionary. Not just in what He did when He walked the earth, but in what He does to the hearts of men. He comes in and tears down the old walls of sin, bad thinking and even religion. Then He builds a new house on the inside of us.

The Holy Spirit has dunamis power. That’s where we get the word dynamite. It’s not just blowing us up simply to tear us down. It’s a tearing down of the old to build up the new. Jesus didn’t come seeking to march and protest outside of government buildings. He is seeking to raid the hearts of men and come away with the spoils of changed lives. It takes time, but all we have to do is let Him in. He will revolutionize our souls.

That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. It comes from the legend Kirk Franklin. This is from his 1998 project “The Nu Nation Project.” The featured track is called “Revolution.” Tune into Trackstarz to hear DJ Jeremaya soon this for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
