Amazing Grace #TBT | Throwback Theology | @dillonchase @damo_seayn3d @trackstarz

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We live in a world that is driven off of earning rank or to be perceived a certain way by others.  We live off mentions, likes and retweets.  If a certain number of people follow us on social media platforms we feel like we’ve gained a certain status in life.  We feel we have arrived.

This isn’t how it works with God.  God is not looking for you to gain a certain status in this world to be pleasing to Him.  If He was would never reach it.  It would always be too high, too long, too far or too wide.  Why?  Because of sin.  Not any particular sin committed, but because the nature of sin lives in us from the day we are born.

The word sin means to miss the mark.  No matter how hard we aim we will always miss it, but God is not waiting for us to hit the mark perfectly.  God created to the law so we could see that we were far from him.  He always intended that we would get back to Him by faith.  The pipeline to get us back is grace.  The unmerited favor of God working on our behalf to fill the gulf of sin between us and God.

We can’t do anything to earn it.  God only asks that we believe in Jesus Christ and by His Spirit He can change us on the inside to becomes sons and daughters of God.  Not only that, but even as we continue in this walk that grace is still working to make us who God created us to be.

That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. This one comes from CHH artist Dillon Chase. This is from his 2006 album “The Light.” The featured track is called “Saved By Grace.” Tune into the Trackstarz show to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this song for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
