“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This past weekend I had the privilege of spending 2 nights going to see some amazing artists. The first night was the Unashamed Tour. The second night was Tobe Nwigwe. The energy in both shows was off the chain.

One thing that crossed my mind is that an artist plays the role of a preacher. It doesn’t matter whether or not it’s a Christian event. The artist is there to minister to you. The music is meant to move you. It speaks to the circumstances of your life and provides some sort of encouragement.

Like I said, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Christian or not, but even more so when it’s Christian message. Yes we go to shows to be entertained. Who doesn’t like to hear some good music? But part of it is that it’s an escape from the issues of life. It provides encouragement so that we can leave the venue we can face those circumstances.

It is even more so when God is in the midst and is able to speak to us and strengthen us by His Spirit for the task at hand. Even in the dark times of life or if we feel like we are in darkness itself it is encouraging to know God can speak and provide light for our next step even.

That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. We’re going to take it back to ‘02 to a member of the duo Ill Harmonics and the super group Deepspace 5Playdough. He is now known as Krum. This is from his 2002 project entitled “Lonely Superstar”. The featured track is called “Shadow Dance”. Tune into the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Theology Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace and blessings,
Damo
