Happy New Year!! 🎆
Now we’re here. We’ve made it through another year and now a new one is here. Welcome to 2019. A new year with new challenges to face. Regardless of how hard you feel the year was you made it. Life is always going to be hard. Choose your hardness. It can be hard with or without a benefit.
What I mean is it’s hard to work a steady job, but you are rewarded for your labor. It’s hard to scheme your way to fast money illegally. You always have to watch your back to not get caught by the police. You know that at any moment it’s all over and you’re spending years in jail. Life is hard, but by the grace of God you’ve made it through.
Whether you realized it or not you had all that you needed to get through those challenges. Those obstacles tried to break you, but they didn’t. At times they subtly build a resolve in you to continue on. Sometimes directly by us choosing to not to let them get the best of us. Choosing not to give in. Choosing to dig your heels in and press forward.
“for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13 NRSV
God builds a foundation on the inside of us down in our soul. It is the anchoring of the Holy Spirit down in our hearts that keeps through the storms of life. Not the material things we tend to seek. Yes we need roofs over heads, food in our stomachs and clothes on our backs, but that’s not what really keeps in life. It is the power of God working down on the inside of us that makes us able to stand. After you go through you realize it is the Holy Ghost working in us that brings us what really need to endure this life. Something money can’t buy. It may have been hard to see while you were going through, but you can look back and believer it now.
That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. This is from CHH vet Viktory. This is from his 2006 release called “Believe It Now” and the featured song is the title track. Tune in to the Trackstarz show this week to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Song of the Day. Until next time…
Peace and blessings,
