I’ve written previously about how God is trying to mold us into the image of Christ. Man was made in the image and likeness of God. When man sinned we lost our identity and original position with God. Christ came to redeem us.
REDEEM. We all know the prefix “re” means again. “Deem” means to regard or consider in specific way. Christ came to redeem us. To once again consider us in a specific way. We were born in sin and were enemies of God. That is not God’s original intention for us. He wanted to once again look at us as His children made in His image.
God didn’t just look down on us. He took away all of His glory, majesty and came to live among us. He was a man just like us who was able to be tempted like us, but He did not sin. He did not do this to condemn us. We were condemned already. He did this to make a way for us to have the life He intended for us.
Christ made the ultimate sacrifice suffering the penalty for all of our sins so that He could empower us and equip us to be children of God by His Spirit. The Bible says that to everyone that believes in Christ He gives them power to be children of God. (John 1:12) Not only that, but by His Spirit He gives us powers to be witnesses for Him throughout the earth.
The Bible also says that with God all things are possible. (Mark 10:27) Whether you know it or not with God you are enough. For that business you want to start, for the husband or wife you desire to be, for the parent you are called to be or the ministry you are looking to start. Yes you will need the help of others to accomplish these things, but you are not inadequate or insufficient. God has empowered you to do whatever that thing is He has placed on the inside of you to do. You have all that it takes.
That leads us to our Throwback Song of the week. It is by a group called The Procussions and it is from their 2003 project “As Iron Sharpens Iron.” The track is entitled “All That It Takes.” A loud BANGER that encourages us not waste time, but to move forward in what God has called us to do, because we have what it takes. Tune in to Trackstarz this Saturday to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Song of the Day. Check it out and let us know what you think. Until next time…
Peace and blessings,
