“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!””
2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT

The Bible calls us ambassadors for Christ. Meaning that we are foreigners in this world sent from another land to represent our nation. We are in this world, but we are not of this world. In this, God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. We are like Christ. We are not here to condemn the world, but to give the world the hope that we have in Jesus.
The world is condemned already, because it does not believe. There is no reason for us to reinforce the condemnation that they already have. We are to bring them the good news that there is hope to be redeemed from the destruction that is to come. There may be some who have gotten saved from a fire and brimstone message, but at the end of the day it’s the hope of the gospel that brought you out of darkness into the marvelous light. We address sin, but we also give hope.
It’s easy to point out the wrong in anybody, but something awakes on the inside when you are told of the potential and the good things that you are destined for. God told Jeremiah that He had plans for him to give him hope and future. Death and destruction is not the ultimate goal God has for us. God desires to have a relationship with us and for us to be with Him for eternity.
This the essence of the ministry of reconciliation. A broken relationship being mended. This is why Paul wrote that he becomes all things to all men that God might save some. God is going to use wherever you came from, the experiences you have had, the mistakes you have made to make into who He has called you to be. He does this so He can put you on display to show the lost what it looks like when that broken relationship has been mended.
God sends us out into the world to be his voice so the world can hear us now! Whether you were a drug dealer, a prostitute, a thief, a liar or even thought you were too good, God wants it all to use for His glory. He doesn’t want you to hide who you have been and what you have done. Be transparent so that others can see how Christ has worked in you and through you. Let the message of Christ be lived, seen and heard through you. HEAR US NOW!
