Lee has always come across as strong, but this single finds her opening up about some of the critiques she receives as an Asian American women in hip hop. The first line she spits is that’s been accused of stealing or appropriating hip hop, but she’s not letting that stop her.
From critiques that she’s just a gimmick and more, HeeSun Lee demonstrates how to hear the critiques (cuz artists here them) and keep moving forward. The hook brings the point of the song home, everyone has an opinion, but on the list of problems that need solving, haters just aren’t there.
