- Thought to have been the inspiration behind “Age aint Nothing but a Number” song by Aaliyah and R Kelly
- Vibe magazine later revealed a marriage certificate that listed the couple married on August 31, 1994, in Sheraton Gateway Suites in Rosemont, Illinois. Aaliyah, who was 15 at the time, was listed as 18 on the certificate; the illegal marriage was annulled in February 1995 by her parents.
- R Kelly threatened to sue Lifetime for the release of the documentary but Lifetime released it anyway
- Key celebs refused to be interviewed for the doc including (Questlove, JayZ, Lady Gaga, Dave Chappelle, Erykah Badu, Mary J Blige, Lil Kim)
- The Executive Producer Dream Hampton outed them saying “It’s not because they support him, its because its so messy and muddy. It’s that turning away that has allowed this to go on.”
- Questlove denies this, he said he just didn’t want to be included in the section praising R Kelly’s “genius” saying “I was asked to talk about his genius. I do not nor have I EVER stanned for him.”
- Survivors in the doc claim that R Kelly had several sexual relationships with underage girls.
- John Legend was the only major artist to appear in the doc and also later blasted R Kelly on Twitter saying “R. Kelly has brought so much pain to so many people, #TimesUp for R. Kelly”
