Andy Mineo released a brand new single today! His single, “MPJ Freestyle,” finds the rapper just sharing what’s been on his mind over the JuiceBangers, Ace Harris, and Taylor Hill produced instrumental. Andy previewed a portion of this song on Instagram Live a few months ago and the internet went crazy when he said the lines, “One more year then I’m outta the deal/might go independent and do it like Dyl.” This led many to question whether Andy would be leaving Reach Records or not.
There is so much more to this song and Andy dropped a lot of quotable lines like, “I’m not a vibe I’m an experience.” That is a bar and a half! Andy talks about wanting kids but wondering how that will affect his career, because if he does have some he wants to actually be there and ,”Can’t be like Joe and go disappear.” This line may reference his father who was largely absent from Mineo’s life, from his childhood to his wedding day. Andy doesn’t want to be missing from his kids’ lives when and if he has them. He gets into how NBA players are married but have women throughout the country they can hook up with and prays for the player this song is named after, MPJ(Michael Porter Jr.). Andy also talks about companies and individuals that help people as a public relations stunt and so many other things.
If you are wondering what’s been on Andy’s mind, this song is the answer. Mineo told us almost ten years ago that he doesn’t keep a diary, but instead, he puts it all into the music. His latest single, “MPJ Freestyle,” continues that tradition. The single is available wherever you listen to music digitally. What do you think of Andy’s latest song?
