Back in August, a friend of Rep’s died from a battle with covid leaving her husband and four-year-old daughter behind. This, along with so many tragedies he had seen including his own dad’s passing at the beginning of the year, got him really thinking about how hard it is to stay strong in faith during these times. He also realized that it’s hard to stand for what you believe in these times when no one is sure who to follow and what actions to take. It’s chaotic. There’s a need for a firm foundation. Most know the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They know the fiery furnace, and how the king gives them a chance to bow before him or get thrown in. The speech given to the king by the three really inspired Rep. “We won’t bow down to you. You can put us in the fire and God will save us, but even if He doesn’t, we won’t bow down.”
Even If He Doesn’t is a pop, hip hop, worship song that really is a declaration of what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said. Rep’s hope is that it encourages others to stay strong and strengthen their faith. No matter what, God is still God–and He’s still good.
