Propaganda recently released his newest single “Calibrate.” This single serves as the first single from ‘Terraform: The Sky’ EP, which is the second of four EPs in the ‘Terraform’ series. This song is extra vulnerable as Propaganda talks about taking the time to focus on what really matters. When machines are used, over time they begin to not work properly and need to be calibrated. Prior to 2020, much of the world was caught up in the rat race of work with no time to spend with family. Many are getting to get back into the race and Prop admonishes the listener to calibrate their lives.
His music video alternates between shots of Propaganda performing the song and Cliff the Chief machine tech as he calibrates/assembles an Espresso machine from La Marzocco. Prop’s bars like, “Missing hang time cuz I was scared to miss meetings,” and, “Picking fights with real ones knowing it’s slim pickings,” give the listener cause to re-examine how they are living their life. The second verse finds Propaganda opening up about his relationship with his father and how he needs to make more time to see him but he keeps blowing it off. The last bar, “Knowing I’mma regret it when he’s done breathing,” ends the song on a somber and sobering note.
