Hulvey surprised his fans by dropping a music video for his song “9th Grade.” Freshman year of high school is an interesting time. It’s the first year in a new school, you are back to being at the bottom of the social food chain, and everyone is trying find their way.
Hulvey paints a picture of a group of friends in high school partying and drinking, but he feels left out because he’s a Christian and can’t do those things. Being a ninth grader is hard enough, but trying to actually live the lifestyle of a Christian at that age is another type of struggle. Hulvey lets the listener know they can truly belong in Christ Jesus.
