Kevin Burgess aka KB, is heading into the final stretch before the release of his project ‘His Glory Alone.’ On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, KB will be having what he’s calling a virtual experience for the album.
To host a concert and preview some of the album just days before the album drops is a great marketing move. At the time of this article, the first day has ended but there are still tickets for the next two days. For those on the fence about attending check out this review of the event.
The concert started promptly at 7:00PM and KB came barreling on all cylinders fresh out the gate. He started off with “Let It Reign” and was accompanied by two musicians rocking their HGA face masks. If you’ve been paying attention to KB’s IG, then you’ve heard a snippet of this song months ago, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive watching KB perform it.
Not to rehash the entire experience(if you rock with KB’s music you should see it for yourself), but KB performs about seven songs from the project and takes you through a journey. Of course he performed all of the singles he’s released, but he also had some other songs as well. His song, “Darkskin,” dealt with colorism and hit hard with the line, “Don’t lighten your emojis.” He also had one of the featured artists in the studio, but you have to tune in to find out who it is.
This virtual experience had dope music as well as edifying messages in between songs. KB is performing at a virtual concert like he is in front of a crowd as he has smoke and lights and musicians. Even during this era of COVID-19, artists are still operating in excellency.
The most important part of the concert is: you. KB admits at the end they have no marketing strategy, and all the participants in the virtual concert are invited to be his street team. If you like what you see, share the experience and hype up the album. All in all, if you didn’t know, Glory is coming.
