Canadian based singer, Charlene Nash, is back with a new single “Melancholy.” This word describes the mood that underlies Nash’s daily routine. She’s not in this somber mood for the typical reasons, but for a spiritual one. While social media makes life look great, Nash understands that many are living without Christ, and that makes her sad. The song parallels the Lamentations to a point, and also sounds like an intercession. She’s got a godly concern for her fellow human beings as she croons, “All I think about is we al gon’ die. And all I think about is how the price is high.” She knows the cost of living life without Christ and Christ will call her name, but what about the countless others. Nash marries a somber sound with reality but still manages to give hope, a sentiment that’s missing from a lot of mainstream and Christian music. Check out the single below, and stay tuned for a music video to come in a few weeks. What do you think of Charlene’s latest song?
