What is going on everyone!! I know I have been ghost on here lately, but I am coming back with a vengeance!! I’m sure we have all heard that statement, “time heals all”. I actually don’t believe that statement is true. Time itself doesn’t heal relationships. It doesn’t heal or mend wounds. Time should be used to grow and to really assess what is in ones’ heart.
Let’s say for example that two people had a rift between them and it caused their friendship to fall apart. Time alone will not cause the friendship to be mended. Time should be used to asses the heart and to either forgive or move forward. You can’t sit idly and expect things to change. Action steps need to be taken so that forgiveness can occur.
We live in a culture where friendships are so surface, and people are extremely passive. A popular perspective says, “I’m not going to reach out unless they do”. To me, that is probably the most selfish thing someone could say, if I could be so blunt. You never know when someone needs to hear from you, so why not reach out? We all need to get over our pride and not be afraid to be the bigger person and initiate conversation.
In the case of reconciliation, communication is essential. You can’t just sit on your hands and expect the friendship to be fixed. That time of space should be used to seek the Lord on how to forgive and to grow in the friendship. Essentially, time alone does not heal anything. That time should be used for reconciliation and for healing from whatever situation went on. I am not saying that space away is bad, but what I am saying is that we should make that time useful so that reconciliation can happen.
Much Love,
