What is going on everyone!! I am so sorry I have ghost, it has been crazy hectic. This week, I want to talk about something that has been heavily on my heart lately. It has been on my heart to talk about the mountain top, and how that represents the presence of God. The presence of God is not something that we experience for only a couple of hours on Sunday. It isn’t just the Bible study we attend on weekday nights. The presence of God is meant to be an everyday lifestyle. Because the Holy Spirit of God lives inside of us, it is impossible to brush past having intentional time with our Creator, and expect to go about our everyday lives. It is in the presence of God that we are fueled; it is the presence of God that we gain wisdom and purpose for this journey called life. Without being in the holy space with the Lord, we will lack the power and purpose that is destined for every follower of Jesus.
During some quiet time with God, He spoke this to me. “Christians aren’t supposed to be second rate. Essentially, y’all are supposed to not suck at stuff”. I love this because God speaks to me in a unique way that is easy to understand. What this means, is that as believers, we have the same spirit in us that Jesus had. We have the same spirit as the one that God had to form and create the universe and every single person in it. Because of this power in us, there is no way we should be second rate. “Living humbly” does not mean to have less than or to “suffer” for the sake of the gospel. The gospel is a gift that leads us to be whole and prosperous in every area of life, and yes that includes financially. For some reason, people have this view of Christians that we are supposed to be lowly, weak people just down on earth trying to make it till Jesus comes back. THAT IS FALSE!!! We are called to live prosperously and in peace in strength and to experience what God has for us while on this earth. That is why scripture says, “on earth as it is in heaven” because we are not called to wait till heaven. We can experience a piece of it now.
We are to walk in a constant space of being in the presence of God. That is where the unique ideas come from. We can’t expect to pray once a week and expect God to do the miraculous in our lives. We can’t expect to hear God’s voice and understand it if we don’t even know how He speaks to us?? You can’t communicate with your friends if you don’t spend time to learn how they are can you? It is the same principal with God.
Please hear me. It is possible to be a “normal person” while being in constant fellowship with God. That doesn’t make you a spooky person. Rather, it makes you a victorious, wisdom filled person who is in tune with their creator. God isn’t a spooky kind of God. He is a God who leads His people with wisdom, and we are called to live a favorable life so that people can experience Him in a way that is real.
Much Love,
Ryan W.
