About Key
Key, a Jersey native girl who was born out of time brings a refreshing element back to what we call Hip-
Hop. Her old school flows and rhymes infused with her soulful gospel tones are fueled by her faith, that
mirrors great artist such as Roxane Shante and Lauren Hill, just to name a few. Key is a youth Leader,
teacher and Mentor in her parent’s church Soul Out Ministries. She grew up hearing her father Keith
McDuffie AKA “The Apostle” and Uncle Randy Crandle AKA “The Prophet,” practice and perfect their
rhyming styles back in the early 2000’s; which is without a doubt where her love of Hip-Hop began. Key
wrote her first full length song, “Loud Silence”, at the age of 15 and now at the age of 22 is carving out a
legacy of her own. One thing is for sure that what you will always get from Key, is that Old School Hip-
Hop sound complete with a soulful faith filled Christ message.

Key – D.O.A
Lyrics
Hook:
Born into sin
Yeah we dead on arrival
Jesus came in
And now that’s a Revival
That is an unction
To pick up your bible
Being a Christian
Is not just a title
Verse 1:
Take a look at psalms 51
We all sin but right should’ve won
Fall short all except for the son
Yeah Jesus paid it all and it’s already done
Wait wait
Let me spell it out
G.O.D that’s God over doubt
I know you know his name ‘cause he’s got a lot of clout
That’s G.O.D now say it with a shout!
Born and shaped into iniquity
We all know that this crown wasn’t fit for me
But Jesus came and he changed my identity
Now this crown on my head is where it’s meant to be!
Think we royal but we dress like a bum
Wanna be a child tryna outshine the son
Wanna change your life then you start with step one
Believe in your heart now your life has begun!
Born again now your manuals the Bible
We were put on this earth to be disciples
And our brothers in the Lord aren’t the rivals
Stand tall and we tower like an Eiffel
How you was born ain’t how you gotta die
Jesus came and he gave up his life
Sins forgiven so you know I was hype
We all know the story but still we are like!!!
Hook:

That is an unction
To pick up your bible
Being a Christian
Is not just a title
Verse 2:
So you a christian but you still doing drugs?
ain’t even married but you still tryna love
And not the one when you get bit by the bug
But the one when you (chill) sugarcoat it for what??
We were wrong but we still went and did it
Don’t be a shame cuz you weren’t when you did it
Tell the truth it felt good just admit it
Say “oops Lord I’m sorry” then all is forgiven (NOT!)
Think a sorrys good you’re living in a haze
To repent means to turn from your ways
Come on now cuz 180s the wave
I’m a new man like Ryan blast off to better days
Yeah it’s true Gods in love with man
Could’ve wiped us right from his plan
Yeah we live by the mercy of his hand
Did it once to Noah and said never again!
