As most may know, February is Black History Month, and we are almost at the end of it. This is a time to celebrate and remember the contributions of African Americans both past and present, as these stories are told to the young souls who will confront the future. One thing that can’t be overlooked, is the sacrifices that were made, often times the ultimate sacrifice of life. Sean C. Johnson reminds us of this with his new song “New Day(Otis PArham).” Sean Had this to say about the song, “On June 18, 1934, a mob of white men lynched an innocent 16-year-old black boy in Pine Level, Alabama. His name was Otis Parham. He was my Great Uncle. This song is dedicated to his memory.” Check the song out below as well as the tribute to Sean’s great-uncle. You can cop the single wherever you consume music digitally.
