What is going on everyone!! This week, I was astoundingly inspired by a dream that my girlfriend had the other day. From this dream, it inspired me that regardless of skin tone, location, background, or even religion, we all bleed red. That we are all not as different as we may think we are. At the end of the day, we are all beautiful and wonderful creations that should strive to live in unity with each other.
In her dream, she was speaking at a church. The topic was on unity, and as she began to speak, God put the statement, “We all bleed red” on her heart. She began to explain about how even with all the differences that we as people have, we all have one major thing in common… We are people who have seen tragedies, and do see tragedy consistently in our lives. As she was telling me her dream, it made me think about all of the school shootings that have happened recently, and how we as a nation have been so deeply affected by these tragic events. She then went on to explain that in the midst of trial, we should be a people who band together and look out for one another, in any way we can.
Quick side story; a good friend of mine, Brad, lives in Florida. He is a teacher there, and he lives about two hours away from where the school shooting in Florida happened. He was ignited to do something to help, so he drove to the school to show support in an act of justice for the situation. He reached out a helping hand to a place and people that were in need. That is what we all need to do essentially, to find a way to live in unity with each other despite our differences.
I was so encouraged by my girlfriend’s dream, because she said to me, “I am mixed with Black and White. I can relate to multiple groups of people even while there are racial tensions. Even with that tension present, if you cut me open, just like anyone else, we are all going to bleed the same color. That means we are, at our core, all related.” This struck me so hard, because we love to exclude people who are different than us, but we need to celebrate inclusion and really embrace our differences and diversity. Scripture tells us that we need to do all we can to live at peace with each other (Romans 12:18). I think if we can really let that sink into our hearts, it will help us see so much clearer that when it all comes down to it, WE ALL BLEED RED.
Much Love,
Ryan W.
