Hey everyone!! I wanted to shake things up a little bit to talk about a more somber topic; modern-day slavery. Thursday February 23, 2017 will be a big day in America. It is officially End It Day, where we shine a light on modern-day slavery. It’s stated that over 25 million people all over the world are enslaved, and involved in sexual exploitation.
As Americans, we are very blessed and extremely privileged. However, many states and other countries have high populations of people who are forced against their will into exploitation. We have an opportunity to change that. We can be the voice for the people who have no voice.
I’m sure many of you saw or heard about Ashton Kutcher speaking to the government about the End It Movement and the exploitation of people. If you have not seen it, please go watch it. Part of our problem is that we don’t educate ourselves on the biggest issues that affect our country and world. It is a huge problem that so many girls and boys, men and women, are having their lives taken from them. No matter the form, slavery is absolutely wrong.
This is why on Thursday, I strongly encourage everyone to educate themselves on this powerful movement, and also raise a voice to help end modern-day slavery. I firmly believe that we can use our voices and influence to drastically decrease the number of people ensnared in his horrible act. I encourage us all to be a part of being in it to end it.
