Tony Stone | Tapestry #tbt Video Review | @tonystone @chicangeorge @trackstarz

Within the history of CHH, we have had some pretty great producers. One of those producers happens to be Tony Stone.  He has worked with labels like Cross Movement Records, Gotee Records, Reach Records, Word Records and even worked with artists such as Lecrae, Trip Lee, Flame, and Braille to name a few. When he released his “The Creation” album, one of my favorite tracks off of it was “Tapestry.

Tapestry is a form of textile art that is usually woven. This is exactly what Tony reflects. Through his contributions within the CHH community, as well as within this video, he creates the art of the gospel within his music. It is woven all throughout the sound and visuals of the video. It shows us the 5 pillars of hip hop with graffiti, b boying, emceeing, DJing (DJ Noble) and beat making/production. On the other hand, within the CHH culture, it has images of the church (the ever powerful Steeple at 0:43), being a prisoner of sin (as Tony is “behind bars”), being faithful in the wilderness (1:31) and seeking salvation at the church.

Overall, this is a great video. The lyrics are strong enough to continue to still be relevant and powerful today. After watching this video, he should go by Tapestry Jones. Thank you Tony Stone for all the contributions you have made to the CHH culture and history. You have truly been woven into our history. Spread The Soup!
