Romans 8:26– “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
I remember being younger in my faith and having a hard time trying to pray. I was at church and saw people passionately praying with tears coming down and I was just motionless and kind of… bored. It was embarrassing for me and I even began to question my faith. Then I stumbled upon this verse.
The verse gives us an explanation of why it’s hard to pray sometimes. When we get into our feelings or go through hard times, we can be confused on what to pray for. This is why the Holy Spirit that is living within us intercedes (or steps in for us) and lets us know what and who to pray for.
This week, don’t force yourself to pray. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts. Allow the Holy Spirit to tell you what you need, rather than what you want to hear. When it comes to prayer, know that help is on the way from the Holy Spirit. Spread The Soup!
